St. Patrick's Day

St. Patrick was the patron saint of Ireland. The purpose of St. Patrick's day is that it celebrates the Roman Catholic feast day of the patron saint of Ireland. March 17, 461 was the date St. Patrick's died that is why the holiday is celebrated on that day. Green is used on St. Patrick's day because St. Patrick used the shamrock to explain the Holy Trinity.
